Lee Carpenter MacKenzie passed away unexpectantly on January 8, 2026, in Saint John, New Brunswick. Born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia on February 5, 1951 to the late Milton and Emma (Carpenter) MacKenzie. Lee lived a life rooted in conversation, connection, and deep devotion to his family.

Lee held many careers throughout his life, but his final role with Prudential Insurance was truly his calling. Anyone who knew Lee knew his gift for conversation—he loved to sit, talk, and listen. Being an insurance salesman gave him endless opportunities to do just that, and he treasured the relationships he built along the way.
A natural storyteller, Lee often shared memories of his youth in Wolfville, NS—his high school days playing basketball and his time working at the local cinema. It was that very job that brought him to Saint John, where he would meet Carol and go on to raise their family.
Lee was an active member of the local Lions Club for many years and took pride in serving his community. A devoted Toronto Maple Leafs fan, he followed many sports closely, though nothing compared to watching his grandchildren play. Lee lived each day for them, eagerly anticipating visits, grocery trips, and the simple joy of hearing about their everyday lives.
Lee will be remembered for his warmth, his stories, his love of sports, and above all, his boundless love for his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his stories and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
