With sadness but appreciation for a long life, well lived, the family of Lawrence Sydney Percy announce his peaceful passing at his home on July 30, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born on April 28, 1936 in Jemseg, NB, to the late Ernest and Maude (Dykeman) Percy and was the loving husband of 62 years to his wife, Celine (Vautour) Percy.
Lawrence worked as a Printer for most of his life, printing brochures and other paper products and signs for various printing companies, starting at Keystone Printing Company. He greatly enjoyed playing golf and bowling and was an avid card player. He liked to hunt and fish, and he loved the times his family would spend at the cottage in Jemseg where he would putter around. Larry wasn’t big into cooking but he would often get out the wok and make wonderful Chinese dishes. He and Celine loved their trips with his sister and her husband while square dancing to various places all over the United States and Canada. Larry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Along with his wife, Celine, he is survived by his children, Larry (Patsy), Janice, Marsha and Alma; 7 grandchildren, Josh, Beth, Melissa, Melanie, Mitchell, Myra and Cora; 6 great grandchildren; and sisters, Donna (Phil) and Corliss, as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother-in-law, Charles.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). In keeping with Larry’s wishes, no visitation will be held. A Celebration of Larry’s Life will take place on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 10am. A family interment will take place in Chipman Catholic Cemetery on Tuesday at 3pm. For those who wish, memorial donations in Larry’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by his family.
