It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Laura Judith Gray (known by her family as Tootie) that occurred on April 5, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, January 9, 1948 she is the daughter of the late James M. and Genevieve (Cromwell) Gray.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Leo R. McIvor, her sons; Jamie (Patsy), Timmy, Jeff (Darlene), Ricky and stepson Mike, all of Saint John, her daughters; Tammy of BC, Tanya and step daughter Nicole (Andre), both of Saint John, sisters; Betty Hachey and Sandra Cogswell, of Saint John, grandchildren; Terry (Ashley), Trevor (Lori), Jamie, Amanda (Luke), Amber, Jessica (Kenny), Ricky, Taylor and Hannah, step-grandchildren; Heidi, Lacey, Zack, Taylor, Dylan, Mya and Dakota, great-grandchildren; Piper, Parker, Brooklyn, Lexi (Aiden), Jonathan and Jetta, step grandchild Cole and her fur baby Cricket, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband Timothy Keleher, brother; Donald and Robert Gray, sister, Jean Broderick and granddaughter Brittany.
Laura was employed as manager of DM Laundromat and retired as a caregiver to special needs people. Laura enjoyed playing crib, Bowling and singing karaoke. She and her husband volunteered their services, raising money through auctions and weddings, for people living with cancer.
Her love, respect and dedication to her family will live on in the memories of camping and spending time with her children and grandchildren, her beautiful backyard parties and the family gatherings. She is forever in their hearts.
Ashe requested by Laura, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424), Saint John. A Memorial of Laura’s Life will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care Unit, The Saint John SPCA or a charity of the donor’s choice.
We would like to express our gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the SJRH 3DS and the Palliative Care Unit for their excellent care and compassion given to my wife, Laura Gray, in her final days. Your kindness has not gone unnoticed. ~ Leo McIvor and family~
