Larry Daggett Obituary

It is with very heavy hearts that the family of Larry Daggett announce his passing on April 16th, 2026. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born Larry Weldon Daggett April 24, 1945, he was the son of the late Frank and Kathleen (Polkinhorn) Daggett from Grand Manan Island. He was predeceased by his brother Arnold Daggett, Allison (Joy) Daggett, and sister Murlene Atkinson. Survived by his wife, Donna (Johnston) Daggett, daughters Kimberly Daggett and Wendy Daggett (Steve). Grandchildren Olivia (Sean) Doyle, Alex and Brooke Murray, Jack Gartside as well as great grand children Ivy and Levi.

Larry always put his family first, but when not needed at home, was happiest behind the wheel of his rig with radio in hand, spa music playing and a pocket full of Ganong’s pink peppermints for sharing, on the road trucking. Known far and wide as Papa, he was a larger-than-life guy and most who had the pleasure of meeting him know he will not be forgotten. His love of dogs (Bo Bear), his birds that he cared for everyday, and the many special friends he made along the way always made him smile.

At Larry’s bequest, his body has been donated to Dalhousie University in hopes that he could be of some help to someone down the road. No services are to take place, therefore in closing, Love One Another.
