It is with heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of the sudden passing of Kristi Merzetti, who left us on July 4th, 2024, in Saint John, New Brunswick. Born in 1990, Kristi was the beloved daughter of Doug and Bonnie Merzetti.
Kristi was a vibrant and spirited individual who lived life on her own terms. Her fiery personality, creativity, and witty sense of humour will be deeply missed. Kristi loved her family, and made friends wherever she went but above all, she cherished her two sons, Dacian and Jackson, and was deeply proud of them. Kristi was a survivor, displaying faith and courage amidst her struggles. Her fighting spirit was evident during her last years as she tackled daily battles with fearless determination.
We take comfort in knowing that Kristi is experiencing peace, free from struggles. We would have given anything for her to experience that freedom in this lifetime. Our grief over losing her is infinite. And now so is she.
She will be deeply missed by her parents, Doug and Bonnie; her children, Dacian Wilson and Jackson Merzetti (Jenkins); her siblings, Jenna Lavigne (David), Corey Merzetti (Ashley), Caleb Merzetti (Vanessa Hall), and Kelcy Merzetti (Luke Dickie); as well as her aunts, Nancy Hickey, Elizabeth Merzetti-Grieve (David), Tracie McGrath (Trevor) and uncles, Donald Merzetti (Michelle), Kevin Merzetti, Daniel Merzetti (Sherri) and Richard Butland (Cheryl Thomas), along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Kristi is predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Donald Joseph Sr. and Mary Eileen (Darrah) Merzetti, maternal grandparents, Norval and Carol (Waddell) Butland along with her uncles Brian Merzetti and John Hickey and cousin Aaron Merzetti-Grieve.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Celebrate Recovery program at Kings Church or the Romero House in Kristi's memory.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 9th from 3-7 PM at Fundy Funeral Home (230 Westmorland Road; 506-646-2424). A funeral service celebrating Kristi's life will be held on Wednesday, July 10th at 11 AM at Kings Church, 332 Hampton Road, Quispamsis.
