Kevin Mitchell Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Kevin Mitchell announces his passing, which occurred peacefully on June 13th, 2025, just a few days shy of his 61st  birthday. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on June 18th, 1964, Kevin was a beloved son of the late Malcolm Mitchell and Ida May (Marie) Cormier.

Kevin’s life was one marked by quiet strength, service, and compassion. He spent a number of years working at Moosehead Breweries, where he was known as a hard worker and a dependable colleague. Never one to stop growing, Kevin later returned to school to pursue a career as a Personal Support Worker (PSW). After becoming certified, he found his true calling caring for others at Loch Lomond Villa and Rocmaura Nursing Home. His warmth and kindness made a lasting impact on both his co-workers and the residents he so gently cared for.

While Kevin had a big heart, he was often quiet and reserved. Still, he was incredibly well-liked and respected. In his younger years, he was involved in just about every sport and always up for a game. Kevin also spent much of his time at EPR, where he became a familiar face and a cherished part of the community—over the years, he truly became a fixture there and will always be missed. He was the kind of person who would do anything for you without hesitation. Kevin also gave back to his community through his volunteer work at Romero House, where he formed meaningful friendships that brought him great joy.

Kevin is survived by his loving siblings: Robert (Cheryl) Mitchell, David Mitchell, Susan (John) Davidson, and Cathy (Wayne) Mitchell. He will also be fondly remembered by several cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many close friends, especially Anita Jenner, with whom he shared a special bond.

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). In keeping with Kevin’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family burial will be held at a later date in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

For those who wish, donations in Kevin’s memory to Romero House would be deeply appreciated. His legacy of quiet strength, generosity, and care lives on in every life he touched.
