Colette and Teagan Keith are extremely saddened to announce the sudden and unexpected passing on July 11th, 2025 of husband and father Kenneth Webster Keith of Saint John, New Brunswick. Ken was born on June 15th, 1962 in Perth Andover NB to Dorothy and Donald Keith. Ken is predeceased by infant twin sons Jonathan and Alex (1992); his father Don (2011); mother Dorothy (2013); and brother-in-law David Loukes (Judy) in 2025 as well as father-in-law Weldon (2007) and Dorothy Clark-Ginson (2019) and step father-in-law Earl (Bus) Ginson (2024).
Ken is survived by his wife Colette and daughter Teagan; brothers and sisters Donnie (Jan) of Edmonton AB, Judy Loukes of Fredericton NB, Patsy MacFarlane of Moncton NB, K. Gregory (Jane) of Sussex NB, Peter (Sharlene) of Fredericton NB and Elsa (Jerry) of Yoho NB. Ken is also survived by Rebecca Urquhart (Steve) of Upper Brighton NB and Mark Clark (Bethany) of Bradenton, Florida. Ken is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ken and Colette were married in 1983 and in 1996 were blessed with daughter Teagan. While living in Saint John, Ken was employed at Irving Pulp & Paper where he was fortunate enough to receive training to become a Red Seal millwright. Following this education, Ken pursued further education and training in the field of vibration analysis at IP&P and upon his retirement in 2017 he became Executive Director of the Canadian Machinery Vibration Association (CMVA), and he was still doing this job that he loved when he passed away.
In 2018, Ken and Colette pursued a “bucket list” adventure by moving to Calgary, AB, in large part to “live the dream” of skiing in the Rocky Mountains and bicycling around both the city of Calgary and the surrounding foothills. Ken and Colette were fortunate to be taken on at Sunshine Village as “Snow Hosts” which was (as Ken would tell you) the “funnest” thing a person could do. In 2020 the decision to move back home to Saint John to be close to Teagan was made, resulting in another cross-country trip, this time hauling a travel trailer with beloved cat Tuxy and dog Buddy. They moved to the West side of Saint John and continued to build and enjoy their lives together and loved being in the same city as their daughter and being able to re-connect with friends old and new; Ken often commented (and Colette agreed) that they were so lucky to be flanked by incredibly supportive neighbours (Deb & Ron, Charlene & Ted, Rachel & Brian).
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Ken’s life on Friday July 18th, 2025, at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). The family will receive family and friends between 2:00 - 3:00pm at which time the service will take place at the Fundy Chapel. For those who wish to raise a toast in Ken’s memory, everyone is welcome back to the house following the service.
A special thank you is extended to the good Samaritan who stopped to administer CPR and the First Responders (paramedics, police and fire dept personnel) who showed up quickly and worked tirelessly. Thank you also to the personnel at the ER at the SJRH for their compassion and professionalism.
In lieu of flowers, Colette and Teagan ask that donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice be made.
