Kathleen "Kathy" Calder

With broken hearts, the family shares the tragic passing of Kathleen “Kathy” Jean Calder on August 25, 2025. Born on July 4, 1956, in Calais, Maine, Kathy was the daughter of Wesley and Mary (Foster) Calder.

Kathy’s presence was a gift to all who knew her. Her soul mate, Lester Willier, held a truly special place in her heart, and together they shared a deep, unbreakable bond. She will be lovingly remembered by her stepchildren, Christopher (Michelle) and Craig, her beloved grandson Elijah Hargrove, and her sister Lois French (Lee). Kathy’s memory will also live on in the hearts of her nieces, nephews, many treasured friends and extended family members.

Kathy had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and truly valued. She was a woman of deep integrity and unwavering trust. Her laughter was contagious, and her warmth could light up any room. Whether it was a heartfelt conversation or a simple smile, Kathy had a remarkable ability to put others at ease and make them feel loved.

She was a very spiritual person and was passionate about her teachings, especially in the tipi and sharing circle. Kathy was deeply connected to both people and the natural world around her. A talented and passionate artist, Kathy found joy in indigenous art and enjoyed sharing her creativity with others.

Kathy’s light, love, and laughter will be missed more than words can express. She touched so many lives, and her spirit will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son David Hargrove who passed in 2010.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
