It is with heavy hearts, but with appreciation for a life well lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Katherine Sophia (Moore) McBrine, which occurred on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, N.B., on October 12, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Eleanor “Ellie” (Greer) Moore.
Katherine is survived by her daughter Myrna McBrine, of Rothesay; brothers Robert (Linda) Moore, of Quispamsis, and Daryl (Lois) Moore, of Hampton; sister Carol Blois, of Quispamsis; grandchildren Juston Scott and Jeremy Aaron Herrington; and great-grandchildren Brianne and Braydon.
Aside from her parents, Katherine was predeceased by her husband Oscar McBrine; son Beverly Francis McBrine; brothers Clarence Eldon and Clifford Eugene Moore; and brother-in-law Ken Blois.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Carl Moore for helping Katherine whenever she needed; to Randy Moore for his weekly visits and providing Communion; to her hair stylist, Tom Furlong; to Carol Anne Foster for her weekly visits; and to Margo Moore.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, N.B. In keeping with Katherine’s wishes, visitation will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021, from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at St. Thomas Anglican Cemetery in Black River. Donations in Katherine’s memory may be made to the SMSB Mission Centre, St. Thomas Anglican Cemetery, or Bobby’s Hospice.
