Joyce Marie Barton

The family of Joyce Marie Barton (Chase) are deeply saddened to announce her passing on July 25, 2026, her 89th birthday.

She was born in Gaspereau Forks and was the daughter of the late Clarence Chase and Kathryn (MacVicar, Chase) Gale.

She was married for 67 years to Charles Barton and together they had a life of adventure, including flying, hunting, boating, and too many road trips to count.  She loved her career as a registered nurse (Saint John General Hospital, class of 1958).  Joyce loved everyone, and anyone who met her was blessed by her kindness, grace, and a smile that made her face shine.

She is survived by Charlie, her 4 daughters: Andrea (Paul), Gina (David), Judy (Paul) and Peggy (Dale). She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Andrew (Belle), Joel (Amanda), Elizabeth (Karlson), Ben (Emma), Adam (Deveney), and Matthew; and great-grandchildren: Miles, Simone and Lewis; sister-in-law, Deanna Chase.

Besides her parents, she was also pre-deceased by her dear brother, Gerald Chase, her in-laws, Freda and Clarence Barton and her stepfather, Walter Gale.

A Celebration of Life will be held at True Life Church (30 Vincent Rd, Quispamsis) on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 11:00AM with a visitation and reception to follow.
