Joseph (Joey) Gregory Meahan

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joseph Gregory Meahan, of Saint John announce his passing on Wednesday August 5, 2026.

Born in Saint John, Joey was the beloved son of Margaret Meahan and the late Greg Meahan.

Above all else, Joey was a devoted father. His greatest joy in life was his children, Jackson, Jessica and Mya, who were truly his whole world. Whether it was taking them on adventures, making memories together, or simply spending time with them, Joey cherished every moment they shared.

Joey was a free spirit who believed in doing things his own way. He had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, never asking for anything in return and never complaining. He treasured time spent with his family and friends and could often be found enjoying one of his favorite simple pleasures - a Tim Hortons coffee.

Joey will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Margaret Meahan of Saint John; his children, Jackson, Jessica and Mya; his sister, Jacqueline Meahan; his niece Megan Wetmore (Gordon); his aunts and uncles; his great nieces and great nephew; as well as many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Besides his father, Greg Meahan, Joey was predeceased by his grandparents, Joe and Ida Meahan and Bill and Cora Smith, along with several aunts and uncles.

Joey's kindness, independent spirit, and unwavering love for his children and family will be remembered always. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created with those he loved will be treasured forever.

Arrangments are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland road. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday August 12 at Oceanview Memorial Gardens starting at 11am. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home no later than 1030am for a procession. A small gathering will take place after the burial, location to be determined.
