Joseph Doucette Obituary

Joseph Ulysse Doucette, a caring husband, father, brother, uncle and friend left this world on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at the age of 62. Joe was born on September 22, 1959 in Saint John, NB to the late John and Frances (Sonier) Doucette.

Joe is survived by his loving wife Lynn (Alston) Doucette, who he adored and loved to tease! Along with his son Joe (Mackenzie Burke), 2 brothers; Ronald E. Doucette (Anne Arsenault) and David M. Doucette (Julie Wallace), along with several nieces and nephews in particular; Justin and Matthew Doucette who were like his own sons. He will also be remembered by many good friends, in particular; Roger Limkilde and Kevin Donaldson along with his Siamese feline companions.

In addition to his parents, Joe is predeceased by his brother John, sister Sharon Gauthier and his parents in-law Jean and Holly (Forret) Alston.

Joe was well a respected individual in our community, who shared passion in restoring antique vehicles. He was employed for 42 years at Ready Rentals Ltd, obtaining the position of Manager. Prior to this, he worked at Ritchie’s Building and Flooring Centre.

At the end of the day, the most important thing in Joe’s life was his family. Although he was diagnosed with cancer, Joe never gave up on the valiant battle and made sure that he lived each day like it would be his last. He was an inspiration to all of us and taught many what it was like to be a good, honest and true person.

Family and friends are invited to the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) on Thursday, May 5th, 2022 starting at 9:30 AM until the service in the Fundy Chapel at 11:30 AM. This will be our opportunity to celebrate a life that was well lived and to remember a man who will always be loved.
