----------------------

Words cannot express how much we wish we did not have to say this, but unexpectedly at his apartment in Moncton on November 11, 2020, due to complications of Type 1 Diabetes, our sweet Jonathan James Richard Donovan passed away.  He is the youngest child of parents, James and Marie-Mai (Richard) Donovan.

Jonathan was part of the graduating class of 2020 from Centre scolaire Samuel-de-Champlain and was attending this school since his first day of kindergarten. From there, he played for many years of his high school career as a forward on their Jaguars hockey team. He was a BIG fan of Jonathan Towes and the Chicago Blackhawks.

Like all boys his age, he loved his video games, but he recently started school at Oulton College and was very excited and happy to be preparing to join the RCMP.  He was a very family-oriented person who from a very young age followed in his bigger cousin Serge’s footsteps.  Jonathan wanted to help people in their times of need.

His life was stopped too soon, before he could enter into the next chapter and for that we are heartbroken.  He will be mourned and we will never get over this loss, but he will be remembered for every second of every day for how wonderful he was, how much potential he still had left to give, and how deeply he cared for his friends and family.

Jonathan leaves behind his adoring parents, James and Marie-Mai (Richard); sister, Gabriella; maternal grandparents, Alyre and Yvonne Richard; much loved aunts and uncles, Michael Donovan, Cathy (David) Basque, Debbie (Dave) Morrell, Ken (Cheryl) Donovan, Peter (Laura) Donovan, Anna (Fernand) Goguen, Victor (Cindy) Richard, Benoît Richard and Godmother Andréa (Victor) LeBlanc, Godfather Jean Nowlan; as well as many, many cousins and friends. He had been predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Pete and Lois Donovan.

Visitation hours will be held on Sunday, November 15th from 2-5 PM at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, November 16th at 11 AM  from Saint-Francois-De-Sales Catholic Church (77 Ragged Point Road, Saint John, NB). Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
