John Chesley Hughes

It is with sadness the family of John Hughes announce his passing which occurred at Turnbull Nursing Home on Tuesday May 25, 2021. Born in Saint John April 7 of 1934, he was the son of the late Ernest James and Violet May (Galbraith) Hughes. John was a sales rep for Emmerson and Fisher Wholesale for many years. He was an avid Montreal Canadians Fan and outdoorsman who enjoyed many years of hunting fishing,  gardening and golf.

John is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews and friends;  special friends Rose Godin and Janine Arseneau and their families. Along with his parents John was predeceased by brothers Ernest and George and a sister in infancy.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) By John’s request there will be no visitation or service. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations in John’s memory can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
