John Moreno Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and sadness, the family of the late John Mario Moreno announce his passing which occurred on Tuesday, March 22nd, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born on November 21st, 1963, in Medellin, Colombia, he is the son of Mario and Marina (Caro) Moreno.  John served 36 years in the Canadian Military, first serving with the Royal Canadian Regiment and then with the Military Intelligence Branch.  He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #58.  John had a passion for painting and he adored his dogs Petunia and Penelope.

John is survived by his loving and devoted wife Deborah (Foster) of 27 years; sons Erik Ratajczyk of Hamilton, ON, John Carlos Moreno of Quispamsis; brother Jorge Moreno (Dale) of Toronto, ON; grandchildren Emma and Hannah; nieces Jordyn and Sydney and nephew Kyle; mother and father-in-law Wanda and Brian Foster; mother-in-law Judy Foster; sister-in-law Dawn; brother-in-law Brian; nieces Jessica, Katelyn and Meghan; nephew Charlie; as well as many friends.

A special thank you to Dr. Le, Dr. Groom and the Oncology Unit as well as the staff of Extra Mural and the SJRH Palliative Care Unit for your kindness, care and compassion shown to John and his family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Monday, March 28th from 12 to 2 p.m.  A Memorial Service will begin at 2 p.m. in the Fundy Funeral Home chapel.  The family asks that masks be worn during the visitation and service. Interment will take place at a later date.  Donations in memory of John may be made to Extra Mural or to the SJRH Palliative Care Unit.
