John Edward Maloney

August 24, 1950 ~ March 23, 2016 (age 65) 65 Years Old

It is with sadness, the family of John Edward Maloney announces his passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on March 23, 2016. John was born in Saint John on August 24, 1950; a son of the late Bernice (Pyne) and Harry Maloney.

John was a man of strength, determination, inspiration and love. Prior to his illness, John worked as a Steel Fitter at Ocean Steel, during that time he also served as President of the Union.  John was a bouncer at many establishments throughout Saint John during his younger years.  John was a caring father and loving grandfather to his grandchildren, as they were truly the shining lights of his life. One of his greatest joys in life was taking his grandson Landen and his constant companion Bear for a “walk” around the block.  Whatever life threw in John’s way, he found the motivation and courage to overcome it, always finding the good in any situation.

John is survived by his cherished children; John Maloney of Moncton, Stacey Maloney (Scott Lavigne) and  Ryan Cavan (Brittany Williams) of Saint John. He is also survived by 6 sisters; Maureen "Rene", Pat, both of Saint John, Barb of Windsor Ontario, Diane “Nan” (Jerry) , Josie (Gary) and Sheila all of Saint John, NB; 5 brothers; Bob (Dianne), Larry, Perry (Robyne), and Harry, all of Saint John, NB and Mike (Sheila) of Ottawa ON.

Wheelie Grampy will be forever missed by his two grandchildren; Benjamin Maloney and Landen Williams. As well, numerous nieces and nephews.
