Our family is saddened to announce the passing of John Edward MacDonald which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, November 12, 2023. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on August 23, 1949, he was a son of the late Archibald and Janet (Maher) MacDonald.

John was a laborer by trade specializing in construction.  He later worked as a Seaman for 30 years with the Canadian Coast Guard until his retirement. He was a true outdoorsman who shared a passion for camping, fishing, and hunting.

John is survived by his cherished wife Marilyn (Flowers) and his children, Joe (Lindsay) MacDonald and Heather MacDonald (Jeff Carver). In addition, he is also survived by his brother Allen (Bea) along with his grandchildren, Darcy, Kealey, Brody, Breah, and Layla.

In addition to his parents, John is predeceased by his 3 brothers: Joseph, Neil, and Peter.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506)-646-2424. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday, November 16th, 2023 between 4-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 17th at 11 AM from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
