Joe C. Moore

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Joseph Charles Moore which occurred unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2020.  Born 1952, in Saint John, he is the son of Frances Moore and the late Charles “Carl” Moore.  Joe worked as a labourer throughout his career.  He was an avid horse racing fan and loved hockey, bowling and playing cards.  His favorite pastime was playing darts with the Saint John Dart Association and his Friday night wild bunch.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

Along with his mother Frances, Joe is survived by his daughter Jodie Gould (Jason) of Woodstock; son Chuck Moore of Saint John; sister Patricia Bagley of Saint John; grandchildren Jacob and Janelle; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.  Besides his father, Joe was predeceased by his loving wife Joanne, sister Barbara Daigle, mother-in-law Clara Watson and father-in-law Charles Watson, sisters-in-law Marilyn Whittaker and Della Watson; brothers-in-law Walter Whittaker, Leon Daigle and Edward McNeil.

The family would like to thank Joe’s PSW’s and Extra Mural for their amazing care over the past few years.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  Due to the pandemic and public health regulations, a private visitation will be held on Monday, December 7th by invitation only. A Memorial Service will take place in the chapel at 12 noon for immediate family only, followed by an interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  We invite those who cannot attend, to view the service online here https://www.oneroomstreaming.com/view/authorise.php?k=160712499288831.  A Celebration of Joe’s life will take place at a later date.  Donations in memory of Joe may be made to the Compassionate Care Center, Extra Mural or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
