It is with broken hearts that the family of Roger Joseph “Joe” Bietz announces his passing which occurred on December 10, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB on July 3, 1960, he was the son of Gail Teed (Clark) and the late Erich Bietz.
Joe spent over 20 years working for the Saint John School Bus Garage as a Supervisor/Fleet Manager and Diesel Mechanic. Joe also loved working evenings and weekends at Saint John Spring Works where he made lifelong friends.
Joe was a jack of all trades, his work ethic was second to none and would do anything in his power to help anyone in need – no job was too much. He was a man of many talents, an avid sportsman and he excelled at everything he touched. He loved riding his Harley, snowmobiling, hunting, playing hockey and golfing – often looking for his ball at the 18th hole.
Above all, Joe was overcome with love and pride for his son Craig and his beautiful grandchildren Madawin and D-Man (as he called them). He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Joe will always be remembered by his loving son Craig (Courtney), grandchildren Madelyn and Deegan, and his first love and best friend Krista (Folkins). He will also be remembered by his brother Charles Teed (Sarah); sisters Krista Bielecki (Adam), April Bietz, Abby Teed (Dave), Sharon Fillmore (Bruce), Tanya MacKenzie (Neil), Christa Bietz (Erwin); special nephew Daren Berry along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his stepfather George “Mutt” Teed.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424), where visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, between the hours of 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Celebration of his Life will be held in the Fundy Chapel on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
Memorial donations towards the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
