Joanna Creamer Obituary

On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, Joanna Lynn Creamer passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital with the assistance of MAID, surrounded by her loving family after a 39-month-long courageous battle with cancer. Born on December 23, 1974, in Grand Falls, NL, she was the daughter of Heather (nee Murray) and the late Eric Cathcart.

Throughout her life, Joanna’s eyes, infectious smile, and striking personality charmed everyone she encountered. She was an incredible wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She loved to spend her summer months enjoying the trailer with family, friends, and all the fur babies that came along with it. Joanna’s quick wit, sense of humour, and competitive nature helped foster her commitment to mental and physical wellness. After her diagnosis, she became an advocate for Colon Cancer and ostomy awareness and used her social media platforms to share her journey and raise funds for the Oncology Department. Having undergone over 50 rounds of chemotherapy, Joanna became a support system for new patients and always tried to make them feel at ease.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of the SJRH Oncology and Palliative Care units, as well as to KV Extramural, their family, and friends for their unwavering support and compassion during this journey.

Besides her mother, Heather, Joanna will be missed beyond words by her husband, Dan Creamer; children: Ethan and Emma (Hudson); and brother, Scott Cathcart (Grant and Kate). As well as her in-laws, Paul and Debbie Creamer, sister in-law Heather and Jeff Bernhard (Gabi and Maggie), brother-in-law Joe (Jayme) and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Eric.
