Joan Alice (Kilmister) Bradley

It is with heavy hearts, the family of Joan Alice (Kilmister) Bradley announces her passing which occurred on Monday, March 18, 2019 at the Loch Lomond Village. Born in Digby, Nova Scotia on November 2, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Sydney and Elizabeth (Cress) Kilmister. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her first husband Eldon Fulton Buckley, second husband Carl Bradley and her brother Darrel  Kilmister.

Joan worked for NBTel for 30 years as a switchboard operator and retired in accounting. She enjoyed making and gifting flower arrangements, chatting on the phone, listening to Johnny Cash and spending time with her family. She was a dedicated life member of the Bell Aliant Pioneers.

She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter Kim Harley (Thomas); cherished grandson Ryan Harley; brother Fred Kilmister (Deborah) of Sarnia, ON; sisters Helen Kilmister (Fred Wilcox) of Annapolis Royal, NS and Theda Marie Kilmister of Digby, NS; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers of the Loch Lomond Village for their love, care and friendship given to Joan during her stay, especially to Mark, Pauline, Michelle, Lynn, Jackie, Elsa, Bruce, Kim, Adam, Evelyn and Lisa.

In keeping with Joan’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family service will take place at a later date. Remembrances in memory of Joan may be made to Loch Lomond Villa Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
