Jean Claude Ringuette Obituary

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather Jean-Claude Ringuette, who passed away at his home at Kennebec Manor after a lengthy illness, surrounded by family on October 6th, 2025.

Born to Germain and Valeda (Soucy) in St. Basile, NB in 1938, JC was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His life was one marked by a deep love for his family and his faith. He loved to garden, especially when he lived in Hampton and had a large vegetable garden which he tended along with his granddaughter, Brigitte. His love for music was a constant throughout his life, and he could often be found listening to all his favourites. He enjoyed spending summers at New River Beach with his young family, a tradition he continued to share with his grandchildren. During his retirement years, JC and his wife Myrna enjoyed many summers trailering at Riverside Seasonals on Kingston Peninsula, where they made many wonderful friends.

JC is survived by his beloved wife, of over 61 years, Myrna (Mott), his sons, Jean-Marc and Roger (Sheila) and his daughters, Jackie (Rejean) Chiasson, Michelle, and Margot. He was also a proud grandfather to Brigitte (Graham), Jeremy, Ben, Morgan, Jean Marc Jr, Jax, Emily, and Wyatt, as well as great-grandfather to Zach, Jaycee, Adam, Brady and Emma. He was loving brother to Theresa Allaby. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Marie-Paule. He was a man of integrity, love, and quiet strength, and his legacy will continue through his family and the many lives he touched.

Jean-Claude started his career with NB Tel as a microwave technician and moved on to become an electrician and was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) since 1958, first with local 1480 and then Local 502. He served the membership in many roles from President, Recording Secretary, Executive, Board member and on many committees. His final career path before retiring was working as an Instructor at NBCC-SJ where he instructed and mentored many young apprentices, always going above and beyond tutoring after hours for anyone who needed it. He took immense pride in helping them achieve their Red Seal Certification and hearing their success stories.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all the wonderful staff at Kennebec Manor for their exceptional kindness, compassion, generosity and dedication shown towards our dad and our entire family. We would also like to express our thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the ER and 5C South at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their excellent care during Dad’s stay there.
