It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Jean Raeburn, wife of the late Andrew Raeburn, wish to announce her passing which occurred on May 3, 2022, at the Loch Lomond Village. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, October 8, 1933, she was the daughter of the late William and Jenny (Black) Smith.
She worked as a machine operator with Maritime Paper for 28 years. She enjoyed bingo, bowling and darts, social gathering with her friends and the dances at the RCL #2. She leaves behind her budgie bird Joey who brought so much joy to her life. She had an immense love of family, and she cherished her great-grandchildren who meant the world to her.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Vaughan (Allie), son, William (Debbie Melvin), brothers, Robert and Murray Smith, her granddaughter, Michelle MacDonald, great-grandchildren, Ethan, and Taylor, along with her many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Walter and John Smith, sisters Mary Madore and Margaret Keating, and her grandsons, Michael Guthrie, and Trevor MacDonald.
Arrangements are in the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Following cremation, there will be an interment service at Ocean View Memorial Gardens at 11:00am on Friday, May 6, 2022. Donations may be made to the Loch Lomond Village Pet Fund would be greatly appreciated.
The family would like to thank Paula Debly and her staff for the kindness and support they gave Jean and the family during her stay at the Loch Lomond Village, Willow House.
