It is with broken hearts the family of Janet Elizabeth Ervin announces her peaceful passing on November 26, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born in Saint John, NB on July 17, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Venere and Marion Maxwell. Janet was predeceased by her husband Edward Ervin, the love of her life, as well as by her sons Lawrence and Duane, by her daughter-in-law Renna Wright, her parents and brothers Donald Maxwell, Roy Maxwell and Terry Maxwell and by her sister Roberta Rector.
Janet loved to dance, her husband Eddie and her could Jive the night away. They were amazing and went in many Jive contests and always came in top 3! She also loved camping with family and friends. She was an avid bowler at the Fairview Bowling Lanes. She always enjoyed her Sunday night bowling team!
Janet stayed true to her faith, being a member of Central Baptist for many years, then later at Tabernacle Baptist. She loved being involved in Pioneer Girls Junior Church and loved vacation bible school. She loved working with the kids. Janet was self employed and had her own daycare in her home for many years. She loved all her kids. Later in life she worked at the Superstore in Millidgeville. She was a hard worker and made many friends.
Janet will be missed by so many. She loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren so much. Janet is survived by her daughter Darlene (Richard) Sangalang, son Daniel (Melissa) Ervin, her grandchildren: Rikki (Serina) Sangalang, Shari Lynn (Justin) Ervin, Christopher (Katarina) Ervin, Bryceton Gordon, Alyssa (Riley) Wright, Jace Wright, by her great-grandchildren: Cohen, Jaelyn, Lucas, Xavier, Cameron, Lennon, Ben and Layla as well as her brother in law Bob ( Maureen) Ervin, sister in law Stacey Maxwell and several nieces and nephews that were always so special to aunt Janet.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). Family and friends will be received on Sunday, November 30th, 2025 from 2-4 & 5-7 PM. A Funeral Service will take place in the Chapel on Monday at 11:00 AM. A private family interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. For those that wish, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
