James "Pete" Cobham Obituary

A life full of adventures, dedicated full of kindness and caring for others, Pete’s life journey has ended but his memory forever will be cherished by countless friends and family.

A life of adventures be it on our hidden treasurer, the Saint John River system, sailing or motoring on many family yachts or particularly his vessel “My Way”. Peter was renowned for his boating knowledge but particularly when a mechanical issue arose and Pete came to the rescue of family and friends.

Peter’s love of animals, Tragaro, his horse of 34 years, was often seen riding in the Loyalist’s Day parades or grazing at his homestead in Millidgeville.

Pete, a team member of family owned, Donovan Chemicals, often times would be seen accompanied with his German Shepherd “Prince” in the truck’s passenger side seat, window down, head out and paws resting on the truck mirror.

Pete and trusted friend, Larry McGrath also shared a commercial Snow Clearing business for many years. Also, he travelled to Brazil with a friend on a mission to aid those in need.

His passion for convertible cars ever evident over the years with the latest models he possessed, wheels rolling throughout the United States as far as California and Flordia, but his treasured adventures in Canada, literally from Newfoundland to British Columbia, visiting his cherished family members.

Pete was the son of the late Ronald (OBE) and Clara (Myers) Cobham and sister, Ottillie (Frank) Miller.

Peter touched the hearts of many friends and family members but particularly will forever be cherished by cousin, Margaret Cobham-Mollins, and his buddy, the late Eric Mollins, along with many family and friends.

A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated teams of Saint John Regional Hospital and Ridgewood Veterans Health Wing for your caring support of Pete these past years.
