It is with profound sadness that the family of James Hudson “Huddy” O'Donnell, loving husband of Phyllis (Brydges) O'Donnell, wish to announce his passing which occurred on August 3, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born February 16, 1939, in St. Martins, he was the son of the late William Russell and Ada Mae (Morrow) O'Donnell.
He was employed as Operations Manager with Downey Ford. He had a keen interest in motorsports and was a stock car driver throughout New Brunswick. He enjoyed his camper and time spent hunting. Over the years he coached hockey.
Besides his beloved wife Phyllis, he is survived by his sons; Kevin and Bruce, brothers; Raymond (Katie), David and Paul, sisters Georgina Moore, Colleen (Connie) Bennett (Raymond), Ruth Wadell (Robert), Wanda Tidd, Marilyn Kilpatrick (Tom), grandchildren; Chelisa, Jeffrey and Aaron, great-grandchildren; Carter, Kimberlan, Adayah, Baylee, Elijah Jack, Lincoln, Clarke, and Eric, along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers, Hutcheson, Frank and Ernest, and sister Marjorie.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424), with visiting on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00am at the Fundy Chapel. Interment to follow at St. Martins Community Cemetery. Memorial donations made to the Renewed Church of God, or the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
