Jackie G. Martin

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Jacqueleen “Jackie” Gayle (Wood) Martin which occurred at St. John St. Stephen Nursing Home on Wednesday, October 16th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.  Born on December 8th, 1939, in Moncton, NB, she is the daughter of the late William and Mae (Mellish) Wood.  Mom had many interests and hobbies throughout her life, but her passion in life was her family.  Her great-grandchildren were her whole world.  Mom is resting peacefully now with Dad whom were married for 61 years.  Their happy place was their home on the Kingston Peninsula where they lived since 1972.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Jackie is survived by her son Stephen Martin (Charlene) of Saint John; daughters Susan Holm-Andersen (Eric) of Clifton Royal, NB, Lesa Lowery (Steve) of Waterford, NB; brothers William Wood (Sandra) of Saint John; sister Eleanor Ferris of Saint John; grandchildren Corey, Travis, Julie, Shelby, Michael and Devin; great grandchildren Jackie, Jon, Bailey and Presley; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.  Along with her parents, Jackie was predeceased by her husband Medley, sister Joyce, grandson Ryan and brother-in-law George. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) with visitation being held on Sunday, October 20th from 12 to 2 p.m.  A Memorial Service will follow in the Fundy chapel beginning at 2 p.m.  A private family interment will take place at St. Bridget’s Cemetery at a later date.  Donations in memory of Jackie may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
