Jack Britt

It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the passing of John “Jack” Farrell Britt which occurred at Turnbull Nursing Home on Tuesday, January 31st, 2023.  Born 1932, in Saint John, he is the son of the late Leslie and Mary Britt and was the loving husband of 66 ½ years to his wife Marjorie (Donovan) Britt .  Jack worked his entire career for Beneficial Finance, retiring in 1991.  Upon retirement, Jack and Marjorie spent their winter in Largo Florida and their summer at the cottage in Belleisle.

Along with his wife, Jack is survived by his sons Kevin, Peter (Alanna), Paul (Margaret) and his daughter Cheryl (Steve); grandchildren Breanne Britt, Andrew Todd, Christopher Todd, Marie LeBlanc (Jean Marc). Jaime McArthur-Britt, Donovan “Jean” Britt, Eveline Britt, Barry Britt, Chelsea Britt (Alex), Zoe Britt (P.J.); brother Gerald (Mary); sisters Joan D’Amours and Anne Levasseur; also mourning his loss are sisters-in-law Olga Britt, Ellen Britt, Bonnie Britt and brother-in-law Doug Donovan (Marilyn); as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.  Along with his parents, Jack was predeceased by his daughter Heather Britt, sister Shirley Dysart and brothers Dan Britt, Raymond Britt and Ken Britt.  He was also predeceased by brothers-in-law Dr. Eric Dysart, Guy D’Amours and Ron Levasseur.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Sunday, February 5th from 2 to 6 p.m.  A Memorial Service will take place in the Fundy chapel on Monday, February 6th at 2 p.m.  Those unable to attend, may watch the service live, by clicking on the following link: https://event.forgetmenotceremonies.com/ceremony?c=55ff6dac-3c95-4aa7-81ce-08e9cdcf2286    Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Donations in memory of Jack may be made to The Alzheimer’s Society, Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
