The family of Isabel Crozier Burgess sadly announce her passing at the Loch Lomond Village on July 8th, 2020 after a period of declining health. Born in Saint John on April 22nd, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Timothy C. and Blanche (Crozier) McCarthy.
Belle left her family homestead on Taylor Lake and started working at Wood Products where she met Robert Leslie (Les) Burgess. Belle married Les in 1948. She was a devoted member of All Saints Anglican Church in East Saint John where she sang in the choir. She also enjoyed exercise classes and swimming at the YMCA and the Aquatic Centre. She loved to bake and her sons and grandchildren knew whenever they visited there would always be a fresh baked pan of muffins, rolls or delicious cookies ready for her next visitor.
Belle and Les enjoyed their various summer homes and their travels together to Ireland, Spain, the UK, Holland, Grenada and Florida. After Les`s retirement, Belle and Les travelled in their RV across Canada and the US and to Alaska. A favourite vacation home was Barbados where they spent many happy winters and made many friends.
Belle was predeceased by her husband Robert Leslie Burgess in 2013 and is survived by sons Greg Burgess (Penny), Guy Burgess (Alice), grandchildren Stephanie Seheult (Peter), Jeffrey Burgess (Christiane), Alicia Hutchings (Derrick), Andrew Burgess, and Dieter Burgess (Alexandra), great grandchildren Cadence, Bailey, Louis-Pascal, Jan-Sebastien and Julianne, sister Shirley Gamble and sister in law Betty McCarthy along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers George and Donald McCarthy and sisters Muriel Edwards and Edna Joyce McCarthy, brothers-in-law Gordon Edwards and James Gamble.
Belle’s family wish to express their gratitude to the staff of the Loch Lomond Village for the excellent, compassionate care she received while she was there.
