Ida Mae Noakes May 23,1947~July11, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ida Mae MacPherson of Summerville NB. She was born in Saint John, NB the daughter of Harry and Vi (Ellis) Noakes.
Ida dedicated her life to making life better for others. She worked as a nurse at Saint John Regional Hospital all while raising her four children and finding time to also be a school board trustee, Fundy Solid Waste Commissioner, Secretary of the Saint John Naturalists and an active member of her Two Rivers Pastoral Charge. She was a passionate human rights activist, talented culinary and fabric artist, gardener, nature and dog lover.
She is survived by her best friend and husband David, son Warrant Officer Jason MacPherson, daughters Amy (Matthew Leonard), Lilah (grandsons Zackary and Samuel Pendleton), Brenda (great nephews Jaron, Shane and Justin Sibson),Sharon Arbeau, Brenton MacPherson, Jane and Ken MacPherson, her beloved dog Honey and many dear nieces, nephews and friends near and far.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday July 16 at 2pm at Westfield United followed by a reception to share remembrances. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to SPCA or the Heart and Stroke foundation.
