MACKENZIE, Ian D.
Sgt. RCAF Retired
Passed away after a brief illness and complications at his residence on January 13, 2026. Ian enrolled in the RCAF after his graduation in 1956; followed by many postings to Europe and North America. Following his retirement, he became part owner of Eastern Tech Services in Saint John, NB later settling in the Rothesay/Quispamsis area.
Ian is survived by his brother Daniel (Louise), his nieces Tanya (Dave) Vanes, Joanne (Sean) Verbeeks, his great-nieces and nephews Cole, Ryan, Megan and Madison, as well as by his sister-in-law Valerie. Ian was predeceased by his parents John and Jennie (nee Semple) MacKenzie, his brother Ralph MacKenzie (2022) and his niece Lesley MacKenzie (1984).
Special thank you to Dr. E. Dorion, to Ian's friends Judy, Cathy and Tanya, for caring for all his needs in the last month.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). In keeping with Ian's wishes cremation has taken place with a private family burial in the Community Cemetery in Montague, PEI. For those that wish to make a memorial donation, instead Ian has requested you place a toonie on horse # 3 in the third heat at any racetrack of your choosing.
