It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Leonard Herbert “Herb” Sherwood announce his peaceful passing on Saturday December 4, 2021. Herb was born in Upham, NB on July 16, 1935, to the late Leonard and Annie (McGivery) Sherwood. He was a hard-working truck driver for more than 50 years, retiring from Fundy Bay Holdings in 2009. He loved hockey and was an ardent Toronto Maple Leaf’s fan. Many a Saturday night was spent watching a hockey game with family, and how his team was doing was evident based on either cheers or groans that could be heard throughout the house. Herb’s true passion, however, was for his family. He loved them unconditionally, worried about them too much, and did whatever it took to take care of them. He was a kind and gentle father who, along with Ruth, loved watching his children and grandchildren grow. His wife and children were grateful to spend his final days by his side. They will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ruth (Hodgson) Sherwood; his children Curtis (Emilia), Brent (Leanne), Travis (Sheila), Kathi (Kevin) and Trudy (the late Phil Smith); his brother Randy (Wendy); grandchildren Jonathan (Megan), Kennedy (Brandon), Luke, Garrett, Hudson, Jack, Amedeo (Natalia), Anthony, Max (Luke), Matthew (Jacqueline), Nadia, Lucy, Jaymi and Baily; great-grandchildren Cameron, Cohen, Ariah and Leonardo; his mother-in-law Annabel; his brothers-in-law Allen (Doreen), Bill (Karen); John (Linda), Robert (Tracy), Phil (Sarah); sister-in-law Ann (Earl); along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Herb was predeceased by his brothers Russell and Wayne.

The family would like to sincerely thank the Loch Lomond Village for their exceptional care for Herb.
