Heather Cyr

It is with broken hearts that the family of Heather Anne Gayle Cyr, announce her passing that occurred on Saturday July 17, 2021 at the Saint John Regional hospital. Heather was born in Saint John on June 10, 1986; the cherished daughter of Gail Cyr and the late Randall Hanson.

Heather spent over 15 years with Key Industries where she made many, many friends, who became like family to her. She was known as a social butterfly and brought so much joy to everyone she met. Heather enjoyed many hobbies, some of which included bowling, knitting, camping, playing Bingo and dancing while listening to music. She was a season ticket holder and biggest fan to her beloved Saint John Sea Dogs.

She will be deeply missed by her mother Gail Cyr; her second mom Pam Painter and Pam’s son Sean Painter; paternal grandparents Pidge and Keith Hanson; aunts and uncles, Ron (Susan) Cyr, Mark (Lori) Hanson, Russy (Robin) Hanson; Jackie Hanson, Kelly Hanson, Bobby-Jo Hanson, Kristie Hanson; adopted aunt Janet Desjardins; cousins Jordan Cyr and Chelsea (Tim) Cyr as well as numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins; her friend Barb Reicker; her feline companion Willow, whom she adored and her camping buddies Missy and Lisa.

In addition to her father Randall, she was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Glenna and Austin Colwell; aunt Jane Cyr and uncle Willie Cyr.

Visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home on Friday July 24, 2021 from 2-8 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Fernhill Cemetery with the procession departing the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Those wishing to attend must call the funeral home at 646-2424 to RSVP.  A Celebration of Heather’s life will also be held on Saturday at Gail’s home (22 Starling Street, Saint John) beginning at 3 p.m. Donations in Heather’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Key Industries or the SPCA Animal Rescue.
