It is with sadness the family of Hazen Robert Fulton announce his passing which occurred after a period of failing health at the Saint John Regional Hospital on the morning of Friday June 12, 2020. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Hugh Francis and Mary Margaret Annie (Brideau) Fulton. Hazen grew up in Saint John and attended St. Ann’s Church and has been long time a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 937.He was a proud graduate of St. Malachy’s High School, UNB and St. Thomas University. Hazen volunteered for Rogers Community Channel (Fundy Cable), “Marathon ByThe Sea” and the Liberal Party. He wore many hats during his careers in his earlier days he worked for Bricklin, following university he worked as a teacher for NBCC teaching for District 8 and at the Saint John Correction Center. He was also involved in developing the long distant learning program. Prior to retiring from the Irving Shipyard he worked as Linesman and enjoyed his time with fellow workers and employees. An avid reader, Hazen enjoyed many books including those from his own library collection. Hazen is survived by his siblings and their spouses Theresa Smith (George), Hugh (Sue), John (Barb), Mary, Alice, Father David, Neil and Thomas (Michelle); God children brother Thomas and niece Jacqui Fulton; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews and friends. Along with his parents, Hazen was predeceased by his sisters Frances and Joanne; cousins, several aunts, uncles and most recently uncle Gerald Fulton who passed very suddenly.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) . There will be visitation on Sunday June 28th and Monday June 29th for those wanting to attend please call Fundy Funeral Home to arrange for an appropriate arrival time to visit with the family. A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Catholic Church on Tuesday June 30, 2020 (Invite only please).
