Harold Brown Obituary

Harold Patrick Brown

May 4, 1947 - August 17, 2024

77 years old

It is with broken hearts the family of Harold Patrick Brown announce his passing which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday August 17, 2024.

Harold was a true outdoors man. He loved to hunt every year up at Clarden Hill with Alfred Bridges, Peter Seale, Mike Brown and all the boys at the camp. 16 summers were spent trailoring at TnT Campground in Coles Island playing golf and washer toss. Harold also loved to cook, fish and play pool.

Born and raised a Catholic in the Northend, Harold worked his career as a Power Engineer for 27 years at Irving Pulp and Paper Mill before retiring at 55. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he enjoyed volunteering at bingo, casinos, and church breakfasts.

Harold was so kind and would be the first one to lend a helping hand. He had a great sense of humor, never missed a beat with his quick wit, always on point. Harold will be lovingly remembered by his wife, the love of his life and best friend of 51 years, Elaine (Thibodeau) Brown. His 2 children: daughter Melissa (Kyle) Bohaker and son Wesley Brown. Grandson Chase Bohaker and step grandson Reed Bohaker. Brothers: Ronald Brown and Michael (Sandra) Brown. Sisters: Joyce Bugg, Patricia Brown, Phyllis McGrath, Linda Brown, Catherine (Don) Coes and Geraldine (Donnie) O'Hara. Sister in Lynda (Rick) Armstrong and Cathy (Gould) Brown. Brother-in-law: Kevin (Jeannette) Thibodeau. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Harold was predeceased by his parents Harold and Loretta (Joyce) Brown. Brothers: Gordon (Betty) Brown and Fred Brown. Sisters: Mary (Paddy) Powers and Margaret (Buddy) Conway. Brother in laws: Charles (Chuck) Bugg and Allen McGrath. In-laws George and Grace (Trecartin) Thibodeau.

Our family would like to thank the wonderful Doctors and Nurses on 4CN for all their care and kindness. And a special thank you to our family doctor, Heidi Milner-Gero.

There will be a graveside funeral at Greenwood Cemetery on Sandcove Road on Thursday August 22nd, 2024, at 1:00 pm with a reception to immediately follow at the Dennis Morris Community Centre.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the cancer society, IWK or charity of donor’s choice in Harold's name.
