It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Guy Joseph Daigle on March 27, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born in St. Charles, NB on January 22, 1938 to the late Patrice and Zelica (Robichaud) Daigle and was the loving husband of 57 years to wife, Jeannette (Chevarie) Daigle.
Guy was a Welder by trade and worked at Ocean Steel for 38 years before retiring in 2001. He was a very faithful man and was a member of St. Ann’s Church and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus with Council 6770. For 47 years, he and Jeannette were members of the 30 Up Club on the Westside where he made a lot of friends over the years. Guy loved to hunt and fish and was very musically inclined, playing guitar, mandolin and the fiddle. He and Jeannette loved to take long walks together. Guy was a family-oriented man who loved his wife and children and grandchildren very much. He created a lot of lasting memories over the years and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife, Jeannette, he is survived by his children, Bernice (Paul) LeBlanc, Donald (Nadine) Daigle, Denise (Peter) Laird and Paul (Tracy) Daigle; 5 grandchildren, Adam, Sam, Emily, Emma and Isabel; brothers, Tilmon and Jean-Paul; sisters, Lorraine Gallant, Patricia Cormier, Sister Marie Zelica Daigle, Stella (Leo) Richard and Cecile (Gilles) Daigle; sister-in-law, Juliette; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson, Jordan Laird, brothers, Bernard and Yvon, sister, Aurore (Edouard) Robichaud; sister-in-law, Therese Daigle and brothers-in-law, Edgar Cormier and Oscar Gallant.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). A family only visitation and service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 from 12-1pm. Friends and extended family are invited to watch the funeral online at

Interment will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery following the funeral service. A Memorial Mass will be held from St. Ann’s Catholic Church at a later date. For those who wish, donations in Guy’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by his family.
