It is with sadness and gratitude for a well lived life that the family of Gordon Roland Defazio "PeeWee" announce his passing which occurred on Saturday March 7, 2026 at Bobby’s Hospice.
Gordon was the son of the late Nicholas and Madeline Mary Defazio, he was born in East Scotch Settlement, NB on Christmas Day of 1939. Gordon was an Owner and Operator of “Grove Auto Body” in Saint John for many years.
A proud husband, father, brother, uncle, papa, grampy and great-grampy. Those who know and love him will miss him forever.
For many years he was involved in the Loyalist City Trailer Raley and had many memories of camping with his family most recently at the Fire Fly Campground. Gordon also enjoyed fishing and making his own wine.
Gordon is survived by his sons Harold (Sandra), Gordon (Kathy) and Derek; daughters Heather Thibodeau, Marlene Ogden (Duane) and Tanya Depres (Rick) all of Saint John; several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; brothers Kenny (Sherry) and Gary; sisters Shirley Lester, Linda Defazio, Laura Michaud (Claud) and Madeline Boudreau (Mike); brother-in-law John Cook (Louise) sisters-in-law Peggy Defazio and Carol Defazio; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and friends.
Along with his parents, Gordon was predeceased by his loving wife Margaret (Cook) Defazio; his sister Jessie and brothers Dougie, Daniel, Gerald, Ernest, Raymond and Nicky Defazio; sons-in-law Bob Webb; Arthur Thibodeau and daughter-in-law Laurie Defazio
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) By Gordon’s request cremation will take place. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
