With heavy hearts, the family of Gordon (Gordo) Oldfield announces his passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on June 1st, 2021. Born in Saint John on March 10, 1959, he was a son of the late Victor and Doreen (Belyea) Oldfield, and the loving partner of Jane Melanson. During his working years, Gordo worked as a carpenter and drywall installer for various companies. He was a huge music fan, and loved fishing with his brothers, nephews, and friends. He would always have his boombox playing, much to everyone else’s dismay! When he wasn’t working or fishing, he could always be found at the Fish ‘N Brew. Gordo also enjoyed a good game of cards, washer toss, or watching his absolute favourite, Nascar, but only if Jimmy Johnson was racing. A jokester at heart, he was always down for a good joke. He was a good friend to all, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Along with his partner Jane, he is survived by his step-sons Blair Lockhart (Heidi) and John Lockhart (Lindsey), step-daughters Rachel Hovey (James) and Jacqueline Maillet (Terran Sullivan), brother Richard Oldfield (Elizabeth), sisters-in-law Marilyn Oldfield and Cathy Miller, grandson Cole, his best furry friends Baxter and Kicker, his much loved nieces and nephews, along with his friends too numerous to mention. In addition to his parents, Gordo was pre-deceased by his brother, William.
