With great sadness, we announce the passing of Gordon Gibson on February 4th, 2025, at the Carleton Kirk Nursing Home, where he was reunited with his beloved wife of 57 years, Joy (Breen) Gibson, who passed away in 2014. Born on September 20th, 1945, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Gordon was the son of the late Frederick and Gertrude Gibson.
Gordon was a skilled electrician and a proud member of IBEW 502. He was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in hunting and fishing, and as a child, he loved to play baseball, hockey, and skating on Fisher Lake with his speed skates.
Above all, he was a devoted family man who lived life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Gordon leaves behind his two daughters, Karen Gillcrist-Gibson and Michelle Gibson; his three grandchildren, Brayden, Emilee, and Jaxon; his bonus granddaughter, Emma; and his great-granddaughter, Haley. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Paul Gillcrist; his three sisters, Louise Sullivan, Linda (Steve) Gledhill, and Marina Gibson; and several nieces and nephews. Gordon will also be remembered by his cousin and close friend, George Chase.
In addition to his parents and his loving wife Joy, Gordon was predeceased by his brother Paul Gibson, sister Elaine Gallant, and brother-in-law John Sullivan.
A visitation will take place at Fundy Funeral Home on Thursday, February 6th, from 12:00 PM until the funeral liturgy in the Fundy Chapel at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated in Gordon's memory.
