It is with profound sadness that the family of Gordon Stanley Colbourne announces his passing on Tuesday, Jan 13, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Newfoundland on January 1, 1952, he was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Gwendolyn (Curtis) Colbourne.
Gordon was employed with Sobeys for eight years before retiring to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. A man of many talents, he loved playing darts, strumming his guitar, and performing songs he wrote himself. Known for his sense of humor and kind heart, Gordon found great joy in cooking—especially for his cherished wife, Josephine—and he was well known for making the best chicken soup. Gordon also loved going to Tim Horton’s in the morning to enjoy a coffee with his friend Gerry.
Gordon will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 41 years, Josephine (Webber) Colbourne; his daughters Angela (Steven), Patricia, Suzette (Rick), Suzanne (Craig), Shelly (Arthur), Sue Ellen, Serena Brown (Marty), and Sarah Brown; along with his many grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and extended family. He is also survived by his brothers, Kenneth and Joseph Colbourne and sisters, Daisy, Bessie, Blanche, and Pearl.
He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Gwendolyn, his daughter Sandra, brothers Henry and Walter, and sisters Joyce and Julia.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date in Newfoundland.
For those wishing to honor Gordon’s memory, donations may be made to the Mental Health Association.
