Gloria Edith Ross

The family announces the passing of Gloria Edith (Redmond) Ross, loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend, which occurred on Wednesday, July 15th, 2026, at Rocmaura Nursing Home, surrounded by her family. Born on August 8th, 1942, in Saint John, NB, she is the daughter of the late Arthur and Marian (Donkin) Redmond.

Gloria worked as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at the General, Regional, and St. Joseph’s Hospitals throughout her career. She was a life member of the Saint John General School of Nursing and a devoted member of Kings Daughters. Gloria enjoyed paddling in Dragon Boat races with her “Breasts Ahoys” team, sharing stories and laughter throughout their adventures. During the summer, Gloria enjoyed spending time in Wickham with Eddie. She also loved golfing, gardening and was an avid outdoor enthusiast with friends and family, throughout all seasons. Travel, took Gloria and Eddie across Alaska, England, Scotland, Ireland, and Newfoundland to connect with old friends. As the heart of the family, “Nanny’s” peanut butter cookies and chocolate chip cookies will be well remembered along with her spaghetti dinners, and farmers’ suppers and the many years of birthdays and special occasions gatherings in their homestead.

Gloria (Mum, Nanny) will be deeply missed by all.

Gloria’s legacy will live on through her loving and devoted husband, Eddie, of 62 years; Sheryl Finnigan (Danny predeceased); David Ross (Marta Kelly); Pamela Clark (Gary); Peter Ross; grandchildren Alexander (Nataile Walker), Conor (Katherine Lamey), Raymond Clark, and Erin & Kate Ross.

A heartfelt thank you for the care and compassion of the Rocmaura Nursing Home Staff towards Gloria and her family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) with visitation being held at the Anglican Church of the Resurrection, 20 Macdonald Ave. Grand Bay-Westfield, on Monday, July 20th from 11 to 12 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow, beginning at 12:00 noon with a reception to follow. Interment will take place at Good Shepherd Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gloria may be made to the Rocmaura Nursing Home, The Salvation Army or to the charity of the donor's choice.
