Glendon Small Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Glendon (Glen) Harold Small announces his passing following a prolonged illness. Glen passed peacefully, surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Cumberland Bay, New Brunswick, on April 8, 1944, he was the son of the late Harold and Marguerite (Branscombe) Small. Predeceased by his beloved daughter, Sharon and brother Gerald (Joyce). He is survived by his wife, Geraldine (Grant), sons Stephen (Krista), Raymond (Leona), daughter, Lisa (John); grandchildren; Linda, Bradley, Sheldon, Riley; and brother Douglas (Mary) and several nieces and nephews.

A skilled Electrician by trade and proud member of IBEW Local 502, Glen spent much of his career working at Irving Canaport.

Having several hobbies and interests over the years, traveling, woodworking, carving, hunting, camping, nature hikes and ATV adventures kept him active, while music and sports provided relaxation and enjoyment - the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees games in particular. But nothing filled his heart more than the love and togetherness of family. Holidays and special occasions were his favourite times of year. Gathering around the table to share a home cooked meal and delicious desserts, trading stories with family, and being entertained by his beloved grandchildren. These were Glen’s most treasured moments in life.

Glen’s family wish to extend a heartfelt thanks to the paramedics from Ambulance NB that tended to Glen in our home, the medical team within SJRH’s Trauma Unit; the nurses and staff of 3D South and 5C North, as well as Dr. Mobin Ataellahi, Dr. Jacquelyn LeBlanc and Dr. Emily Love for your exceptional level of care and compassion. And to Nurse Ashley from the 5th floor Ostomy Clinic, we are forever grateful for your care and kindness too.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). In keeping with Glen’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service at this time. A private graveside service will take place in the springtime.

In Glen’s memory, donations can be made to the Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue, Romero House or charity of donor’s choice.
