It is with heavy hearts and appreciation for a life well lived the family announces the peaceful passing of Gladys (Wallace) Williams which occurred on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Dobbelsteyn Care Home. Born in Saint John, NB on May 28, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (LeBlanc) Wallace. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Alfred Williams; brothers Gerald, Charles, William, Joseph, Leonard, Donald and Norman; sisters Emma (Penny) Williams and Helen Allen.
She is survived by her loving children Roy Williams (Marilyn), Gail Handrahan (Wayne “Joe"), Joanne (Elderkin) Mills (Rick), Lynn Belding (Stephen), and Tom Mammone; 13 cherished grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; brothers Leo Wallace and Art Wallace (Marie); sisters Alice Wallace and Shirley Ann Daigle; many nieces and nephews.
Gladys was an avid Bingo player, card player and bowler. She was a very active member of the Denis Morris Community Centre and a long standing member of the CWL. She loved spending time with her family.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Dobbelsteyn Care Home for their exceptional care given to our Mom.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, Saint John (646-2424).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Holy Spirit Parish (St. Rose Worship Site) on Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
Due to the current restrictions the funeral will be for private family only.
Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
