Born in Saint John, NB, on January 11, 1922, she was a daughter of the late James and Catherine (Werner) Daley. As a young woman out of school, she worked as an office clerk at Eastern Bakeries. After her marriage in 1950, she and Gerald moved to Massachusetts, living in Boston, Stoneham and for many years in Reading, returning to New Brunswick in 1974, where they settled for good in their much loved Chapel Grove on the Kingston Peninsula. Gertrude worked in the Simpson Sears Catalog Department for many years prior to retirement, enjoying her work and making many friends. In her later years she greatly enjoyed daytrips and many activities with the Peninsula Pearls Senior’s Group. A loving mother and grandmother, Gert will always be remembered for her sweet and generous nature, and especially her wonderful sense of humour and quick wit.
