George Frederick Lowery

The family of George F. Lowery, husband of the late Marlene Helen (Thorne) Lowery, are saddened to announce his passing which occurred on June 17, 2021 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Lakeville, NB, on August 30, 1936 he was the son of the late Edward and Hilda (Atkins) Lowery.

He was employed in management with NB Tel during his 41 year career. He was a long time member of the Kinsmen both in Moncton and Saint John. He was a life-time member of the Telephone Pioneers. He was a volunteer referee in Riverview, the Kennebecasis Valley and Ottawa.

He is survived by his sons; Tim (Patti) and Steven (Lesa), his daughter Linda Lowery, his sisters; Pearl McDorment and Mary Elizabeth Coleman, grandchildren: Eric, Kyle, Jenna, Melissa Dawn, Luke, Julie and Shelby Lynn, great-grandchildren; Torie, Carlie and Paisley along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife and parents he was predeceased by his brother Edward Arthur Lowery and sister Ruby Lowery.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). There will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family interment will be held at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made towards the IWK Children's Hospital or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
