George Carson

Visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home on Friday August 13, 2021 from 5:30 - 8 p.m. 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of George Carson on November 28, 2020 at his home.  He was born in Coatbridge, Scotland on September 23, 1940 to the late Benjamin and Agnes (Addams) Carson and was the loving husband of 57 years to wife, Helen (Black) Carson.

George brought his family to Canada to create a life for himself and for all of us.  He was a family man and a proud man.  Family was everything to him.  His family overseas was always in his thoughts.  He retired from Irving where he worked for over 30 years as an Electrician.  George was well respected among his peers at work for his knowledge and his experience.

George was also an avid golfer.  He was a long-time member of the Welsford Golf & Country Club and the Rockwood Golf & Country Club from the moment the season opened until the last hole... that is where you would find him.  We will always carry our memories in our hearts.

In addition to his wife, Helen, he is survived by his sons, Iain (Susan) of Rothesay, Roderick (Lee Anna) of Yellowknife, and Andrew (Tracey) Carson of Edmonton; daughter, Fiona McKinney of Arctic Bay; adored grandchildren, Jennifer, Emma, Benjamin and Maggie; sister Jean; long-time friend Edith; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother William. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic restrictions, no services will be held at this time.  When restrictions lift and we are able to gather together again, we will hold a Celebration of Life for George.  For those who wish, memorial donations in his memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by his family.
