Gary Garfield Obituary

With heavy hearts, the family of Gary Wayne Garfield announces his passing on January 31, 2026. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on December 12, 1954, Gary was the beloved son of the late Donald Malcolm Garfield and Vivian (Craft) Garfield.

Gary will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Carolyn (David) Connell, and his cherished granddaughter, Scottie, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his brothers, Thomas (Marilyn) MacDonald and Daryl (Diana) Garfield, and his sisters, Anne (Karl) Lingley, Linda LaPointe, Donna Wheaton, Sharon (Liam) Beddow, Florence Knox, Vivian (Kenny) Wheaton, and Thelma (Rick) Clayton and also several nieces and nephews who he deeply cherished every one of them.

Gary lived a simple and meaningful life. He had a deep love for music and was known for his natural ability to pick up nearly any instrument, with the guitar holding a special place in his heart. He also cherished the great outdoors and spent many happy hours fishing and hunting with lifelong friends. A sports enthusiast, Gary enjoyed playing in his younger years and later took pleasure in watching the games he loved.

Above all else, Gary’s greatest love was his family. His eyes would light up whenever his daughter Carolyn or his granddaughter Scottie were mentioned, a true reflection of the pride and love he held for them.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). In keeping with Gary’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service at this time. A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date. Those wishing to honour Gary’s memory may do so by making a donation to the charity of their choice.
