It is with great sadness that the family of Frank H. Withers, loving husband of the late Joan (Adams) Withers, announce his passing, which occurred peacefully on May 25, 2022, at the Dr. V A Snow Center. Born in Farnborough Hampshire, UK, on May 19, 1928, he was the son of the late Frederick and Violet (Archer) Withers.
Frank served in the British Army before immigrating to Canada in 1972 for a job with Irving Oil as a mechanical engineer. You can still see the IRVING tanks that he designed when driving by the refinery in Saint John today. He was a lifetime member of the Hampton United Church, Past Worshipful Grand Master of Corinthian Lodge #13, and Past Worthy Patron of Lord Beaverbrook Chapter #33. Frank loved to laugh, sing and spend time with his friends and family. He was an avid fisherman, not-so-bad golfer and skilled woodworker. He also loved to travel and especially enjoyed visiting his daughter in sunny Key West.
He is survived by his son Simon (Michelle) of Hampshire, England, daughter Alison Johnson (Todd) of Key West, FL, his grandchildren Samuel and Lynsey and great grandchildren Elizabeth and Jessica.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). There will be a memorial service which will be held in the Fall at a time to be announced. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
