It is with profound sadness that the family of Francis (Frank) Ivan MacDonald, loving husband of Carol MacDonald (Brown), wish to announce his passing which occurred on June 1, 2026 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Charlottetown PEI on January 14, 1962 he was the son of the late Louis and Phyllis MacDonald.
At the age of 19, Frank joined the Canadian Armed Forces where he dedicated 35 years of his life. Frank took great pride in serving his country and was sent to Rwanda, and Cyprus during his career. While posted in Germany he met his good friend, of 44 years, Ernie.
Frank was a loving and caring husband, father, and friend to many. He was a gentle soul who filled our lives with love and kindness. His greatest pride and joy was his two grandsons, Luke and Logan. He loved spending his summers at the campground with his Pine Cone family. He was an avid sports fan with the Boston Bruins being his favourite, he would never miss a game. He also enjoyed travelling, with cruises quickly becoming his top choice.
Frank is survived by his wife Carol, children Craig and Carissa (Luke), step-children Jennifer (Marc) and Brandon, and brothers Doug (Marion), Albert (Deborah), Howard, and John.
Besides his parents, Louis and Phyllis, he is predeceased by his sister Darlene.
