Unconditional Love
In the Oxford English Dictionary, the meaning of unconditional love is: love limited by no conditions; absolute. You will soon find out our meaning of unconditional love and about our hero Frances Armstrong.
At the age of thirty-one our nanny Frances Armstrong became the sole parent of five children ages six to one. For the six years before this our nanny had been a mother and homemaker, but due to circumstances beyond her control she had to go out into the work world.
After getting a job at a bank she worked as a full-time employee for thirty years until she retired at the age of sixty-one. Our nanny nourished her five children physically, emotionally and spiritually. Even though she was working full time she always made sure that each one of her children knew how important their education was. All of her children went on to have a secondary education. She always put her children first and herself last. Our nanny aways felt that there was no "Bad Child" because there was always a reason for the way they were acting. Frances Armstrong's life revolved around her children but after her retirement she started to make friends and started doing things for herself. Some of our nanny's best pieces of advice are "treat others like you would want to be treated. always be patient, and what goes around comes around."
Now Frances Armstrong is a grandmother with eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is the nicest and kindest grandmother a person could have. Our nanny always makes Sunday supper, so all our family gets together and eats at her house. You can always depend on her to babysit and take care of you when you are sick. She always tries to give everyone everything, even if it’s just a treat from the store or a meal from Wendys. One thing is sure our nanny does and always will treat her grandchildren with the same amount of love and care.
We believe that our nanny Frances Armstrong lives her life in heroic ways because she raised and loved five children by herself and has kept that love coming to her grandchildren. Her children say that our nanny is one of God's angels and we truly believe this. The Oxford English Dictionary may believe that the meaning of unconditional love is love limited by no conditions absolute, but we believe that the meaning of unconditional love is everything that our nanny is.
Frances will be missed by her children Irene (Allan) MacDougall, Tammy (Joey) Giddens, Russell (Kerrie) Armstrong, Dale Lohnes, and Darrell (Lisa) Armstrong; grandchildren: Nicholas (Tanaska), Brent (Jenny), Kendra (Jarvis), Ashlee (Adam), Emilee (Brody), Natalee, Kyle (Anne-Marie), Corey (Sarah), Evan, Trevor (Melissa), and Nathan (Alyson); great-grandchildren: Blake Jake, Tye, Laura, James, Wyatt, Everett, Declan, Owen, Brooklyn, Lauryn, Jaclyn, and Oliver. Besides her parents Hector and Myrtle (Payne) Daye, she was predeceased by her sister Florence Tingley.
